how they work
How the rankings are calculated
The indoor ranking is match-based. After every international match, teams exchange points according to the result, the result expected from their ranking gap, and the importance of the competition. A win over a stronger team earns more.
Beach volleyball ranks pairs. Each player collects points from their best recent finishes at FIVB events, and a pair's total combines both players.

When they're published
Indoor rankings can move after any international match, so they change often during the summer competitions. Beach rankings change as tour events finish, usually weekly during the season.
In the app: the indoor lists are checked twice a day and the beach lists on Mondays, straight from the FIVB's Volleyball World site.

Frequently asked questions
Can I star a beach volleyball pair?
Not at the moment. Pairs change often, so beach rankings are not part of Favorites. You can star indoor national teams.
Do the beach volleyball lists show movement?
Yes. Like the indoor ranking, they show how many places each pair moved since the previous edition.
Where are the women's rankings?
Use the Men/Women switch at the bottom of each list.
