World Ranking (men's)

About 110 national teams, rated by an Elo system and listed with their rating.

how they work

How the rankings are calculated

This ranking comes from handballranking.com, an independent site that rates national teams with an Elo system. Each team has a rating; after every match the winner gains points and the loser drops by the same amount, with more changing hands when the result is a surprise.

It is not an official IHF or EHF ranking. It's included because it gives a consistent, results-based picture of men's international handball.

schedule

When they're published

The rating changes after international matches, so it moves most during qualifiers and major championships and can stay unchanged for weeks in between.

In the app: the ranking is checked twice a day, and each list shows the date the source gives for its latest update.
