how they work
How the rankings are calculated
Both golf rankings use a rolling two-year period. Players earn points at each counting event, based on where they finish and the strength of the field. Recent results carry more weight, and older results gradually lose value until they drop out after two years.
A player's ranking figure is an average: their total points divided by the number of events they played in the period, within a minimum and maximum number of events. That is why the points column shows small numbers like 9.0 rather than large totals.
schedule
When they're published
Both rankings are updated weekly, after the week's tournaments finish on Sunday. The new lists are released on Monday.
In the app: both rankings come straight from the official OWGR and Rolex Rankings sources. The app checks them on Monday morning and evening and again on Tuesday morning (US Eastern time), so the new list usually appears on Monday, the day it's released. Each list shows the ranking date and week number, for example "W38".

questions
Frequently asked questions
When does the app show the new golf ranking?
Usually on Monday, the day the OWGR and Rolex Rankings publish it. The app reads both lists from the official sources and checks again on Tuesday morning in case a list is released late. The ranking date in the app always matches the official week.
Why are golf points so small?
Golf rankings use an average: total points divided by events played. A score around 10 is typical for the very top of the men's ranking.
How many golfers are listed?
The top 150 in each ranking.
Can I star a golfer?
Yes. Tap the star next to a player's name to add them to Favorites.
